What is this, Tinder?
Hailing from the town next door to the World's Largest Catsup Bottle, I grew up surrounded by cornfields, Midwestern kindness, and...more cornfields.
Cinema was my escape; it inspired my creativity, as well as my desire to explore lands beyond Illinois. How you gonna keep 'em down on the farm after they've seen... literally any other place than the Midwest (sorry Illinois, I still love you)? At last count, I've been to 15+ countries as well as Staten Island.
After graduating from the University of Illinois, I made my way to France (where I taught English for a year) and China (where I studied Mandarin for a year). Once those merry adventures drew to an end, I moved to New York and began my career as a creative. After eleven phenomenal years in NYC, I moved to Austin. A weird city seemed like a good place to write a weird book. Which is what I’ve been doing!
I’ve been writing a novel called Cozetown. It’s a crazy, funny, and playful tale about mindfulness in an era of mindlessness. I’m hoping to wrap it up and publish this year.
